Keep a signed or otherwise documented reference sample and artwork approval. Check the ordered product against it for product type, color, finish, logo placement, components and packaging.
Inspect functional points.
- Lid assembly, thread engagement and seal fit
- Leak resistance under an agreed test method
- Dimensions, capacity and weight tolerance where relevant
- Surface defects, coating consistency and decoration quality
- Accessory fit, moving parts and cleaning access
- Carton markings, quantity and packaging condition
Agree on defects and reporting.
Define what counts as a critical, major or minor issue for the order. The inspection report should document sample size, observations, photos, measurement methods and any unresolved items. Buyers should select independent inspection or testing support where appropriate.
