What the public sample makes clear.
- Keep one fit table per cap family. Hydro Flask's 2026 fit chart groups bottle compatibility by standard mouth and wide mouth, then separates tumbler lids by medium and large size groups. A supplier should provide the same matrix for your own tooling.
- Hot-drink approval is not inherited automatically. Hydro Flask's Flex Sip lid is positioned for hot beverages and fits all wide-mouth bottles, while Owala's FAQ says FreeSip and Flip bottle formats are not for hot, carbonated or perishable liquids. Matching threads do not guarantee the same beverage boundary.
- Dual-drink concepts still need cleaning notes. Owala's FAQ presents FreeSip as a system that combines a built-in straw with a wide-mouth opening and pairs it with dishwasher and gasket-cleaning guidance. If a bottle has multiple drink paths, ask how each part is removed and cleaned.
- Replacement straws need size language. Public Walmart accessory listings market wide-mouth straw lids with trim-to-fit straws or mouth-diameter guidance such as 2.3-inch openings and 58.3-58.8 mm thread ranges. That language should appear in your spare-part spec rather than only on the retail pack.
- After-sales MOQ should be negotiated early. Alibaba public result pages show flip-straw lids, replacement bottle lids and magnetic-slider tumbler lids sold with separate MOQ wording, which means the replacement-cap program can have a different commercial minimum from the main bottle order.

What to write into the cap-family appendix.
- Platform field: vessel SKU, opening family, cap family, matching gasket or straw SKU and whether the same body supports multiple drink modes.
- Use-condition field: hot-drink approval, carbonated-drink limit, leakproof-when-closed wording and any bag-carry restriction.
- Cleaning field: dishwasher-safe parts, removable gaskets, straw-removal method and brush access for hidden channels.
- After-sales field: trim-to-fit rule, replacement pack quantity, MOQ, mixed-order allowance and part-label wording for reorders.

One bottle program can fail in several different ways.
If buyers collapse straw, chug and hot-drink caps into one vague “compatible lid” promise, they risk getting the right threads with the wrong beverage warning, the wrong straw length or no replacement plan at all.
